Justin Timberlake made a surprise appearance on this past weekend Saturday Night Live episode along with Beyonce and Paul Rudd. Beyonce’s upcoming third album I AM… SASHA FIERCE will be in stores tomorrow (Nov 18th) and she has been promoting her ass off with her two singles “If I Was A Boy” and “Single Ladies”. I am sure everyone has seen the sexy black and white music video for “Single Ladies” and SNL decide to do a live taping of the music video on their set. In this twist, she has 3 male dancers including Justin Timberlake who are all in tight black bodysuits and heels. Now what can possibly go wrong with this video, you will have to see it for yourself below. It is absolutely hilarious!!! Enjoy
T-Pain did his first show in Toronto where he performed at the biggest hotspot, Circa. Despite waiting for over 2 hours for his ass to perform, it was worth the wait. (Well, sort of) T-Pain performed hit singles like “I’m Sprung”, “Buy U A Drank”, “Good Life”, “Low” and many others. Sometimes you forget how many songs T-Pain have been featured on. T-Pain and his dancers gave a good performance with a lot of high energy dancing and a lot lip-syncing. He is absolutely the worst “lipsyncer” ever! I am not sure if T-Pain realize that he is singing over his tracks and many times he would stop singing while the track was playing. Did I go with high expectations from T-Pain? Nope! I knew that he wouldn’t sing all of his tracks but the energy was insane.
T-Pain took the time to talk about this upcoming album THR33 RINGZ. He mentioned the reason behind the title and proclaimed himself as the “Ring Leader” of the industry. He is absolutely right. T-Pain also mention that the T-Wayne Tour will be starting in December and there is a Toronto date. (hmm - I am not convinced) Lil Wayne CAN NOT cross the border, so how is his ass getting over here? Ne-Yo made an appearances on MAD TV last night. Do people still watch MAD TV? I am so caught up with Saturday Night Live and their presidential sketches. One thing I love about Ne-Yo is his great personality. He is always trying something new and showing people different sides of him. In this case, he plays a news reporter who flirts with a fellow news reporter Christina Burke on the air. Their conversations were hilarious and Tom Sanders just really takes it to an extreme. Billboard.com has reported that the Executive Vice President of Def Jam, Shakir Stewart has passed away.Shakir was found dead in Atlanta on Saturday afternoon where it looks like he had committed suicide. There is so official word of the causes and what would have led him to this event.
Shakir was promoted to Executive VP of Def Jam in June as he replaced Jay-Z. He is also responisble for signing major acts including Young Jeezy an Rick Ross. Known by many in the music industry, his peers would describe Shakir was very passionate about music and would work 27 hours a day. That’s what I call passion and dedication.
My condolences goes out to his family, close friends, peers, co-workers. Shakir will truly be missed.
Here is the Lil Wayne’s latest music video “Mrs. Officer/Comfortable” off the double platinum selling album THE CARTER:III. “Mrs Officer” features Bobby Valentino. We haven’t heard from this guy in a minute so it’s interesting to see that Lil Wayne chose this song to do a music video. It’s a nice track but not my favorite. On the other hand, “Comfortable” is a better choice and a great song. The video looked like it was did on a rush job with no major concept. Let’s just say I have seen better videos. Random Note: Bobby Valentino is shorter than Lil Wayne (WTF?!) and I am still not feeling Lil Wayne new piercings. Too girly for me. What’s next his nipples? (Lol)
I am so tired of seeing Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon together. They recently hosted a Hallowe’en party in New York City where Nick Cannon was the DJ for the event. Is it me or is there is something suspcious about these two. Maybe they are a bunch of fakes and trying to pull a publicty stunt. Sorry those things only work for Britney Spears. (She got the BEST PR firm ever!). Could they really be in love and just so happy to share with everyone around the world? I wonder if Mariah will have Nick Cannon’s babies? Maybe next year? She will most likely compete with Beyonce. Hmmm, we will have to wait and see. Just some random thoughts for your ass!
Jamie Foxx is back with a new single called “Just Like Me ” featuring T.I. I honestly thought Jamie Foxx was doing a one album thing with his last album UNPREDICTABLE. This track is produced by The Dream and Tricky Stewart. (Can’t you tell?). “Just Like Me” is the first official single off his upcoming album INTUITION which is set for release on December 16th. (Everyone is in a rush to release their album this year. Is there something I don’t know about?). The track has a nice guitar driven track but it’s going to take a minute until I really start liking this song. Maybe it’s just me. Jamie will be shooting this video in early November in Los Angeles. Andreena Mill definitely got NEXT when it comes to the Canadian Music Industry. She has been working hard on her solo material and keeping her name in the loop by appearing on many guest features including TheKidFamous, Drake, Rochester, Frankie Payne and many more. Andreena has an rich musical taste and appreciates good music. She listens to everyone from Coldplay, Brandy, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Wu Tang and many more has inspired her to be the artist she is today.
She started her path at the age of 11 when she started to write and record her own songs. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts where she majored in Music Theatre and expanded her musical horizon in Opera, Broadway, Classical and Jazz music. Once she graduated from high school, she became a member of the Canadian trio X-Quisite who had released two singles “No Regrets” and “Don’t Say” both becoming successful hits. In 2005, Andreena started her solo path and released her first single “Rewind” featuring Saukrates who also produced the track. The same year, she wrote songs for Canadian Idol runner up Gary Beals and was featured on Rochester’s tracks “A New Day” and “I’m Ready”. She also contribute to Big Black Lincoln’s track “Heaven’s on Fire”.
Now it’s 2008, and Andreena has released a new single “You and Tomorrow” featuring Saukrates. “You and Tomorrow” is one of those tracks that give you that “feel good” vibe. I am not sure if it’s the various tone of her voice or electric pop feel that gives me goosebumps. Every song Andreena has been played on radio or mixtapes have been bangers. Her voice is always puts a smile on my face and I know for fact that she will do BIG things for Toronto and Canada. I am looking forward to hearing everything she will be releasing. According to her MySpace, an album is in the works and I will be patiently waiting for it.

With only less than two weeks to go until the official release of THR33 RINGZ, T-Pain released a new music video called “Karaoke” featuring DJ Khaled. I am unaware if this is the official third single off the album. The track actually have T-Pain rapping without his “best-friend” vocoder and it sounds a bit strange not hearing him on it. It’s good thing though. The 6 minute video shows a funnier side to T-Pain and of course, DJ Khaled is doing is usual chanting and raving throughout the video. I am super anxious about the upcoming album because T-Pain has been killing the game for a hot minute. His last album EPIPHANY didn’t do too great but this is definitely T-Pain’s year! T.I. made an appearance on the Tyra Banks show yesterday. Any one who watches the show knows that Tyra will ask question many people want to know. Some may be personal and some may be completely in relevant. For those who missed it, someone took the time to record it. In the 23 minutes interview, Tyra asks T.I. about going to prison, his music career and his best friend.
One major note: T.I. said he lost his virginity to Tiny at the age of 11. Now let’s do the math. If T.I. was 11, how old was Tiny? Well she is five years older than T.I. making her 16. This all happened before Tiny started her professional music career with Xscape. Hmm, that is some interesting HOT shit for you ass!
