Kanye responded to the Bonnaroo Music Festival late Tuesday Afternoon on his blog. See excerpt below.

“Bonnaroo should have released a statement in my defense but since they haven’t let’s break down the walls on this Truman show and let you know what really occurred!!!…

…My production manager tried to load in for 24 hours before I went on stage but the festival wouldn’t allow us to do anything until pearl jam left the stage. Pearl Jam ended one hour late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..

…I’m sorry to everyone that i didn’t have the ability 2 give the performance I wanted to. I’m sorry… sometimes i go 2, 3 days w/o sleep working on my performance… I have to ice my knees after every show and they hurt when I walk through the airport… having an expensive stage cuts my payday in half… call me what you want but never say I didn’t give my all!!!”

After reading Kanye’s statement, it is clear that he is not responsible for what happened at the Festival. I understand the position from where Kanye is coming from. He has proven time and time again that he can give 110 percent in delivering a great performance. After attending the Glow In The Dark Tour in Toronto, he amazed me with his passion and energy.

In many cases, music festivals may not be on schedule, but If an artist goes on stage and finished his/her set late, what can you do? In this case, a statement should have been made to the fans by the Bonnaroo Music Festival regarding the whole incident with Kanye. Now it seems like Kanye is the bad guy when he it wasn’t his fault. He made a great attempt to apologize to his fans in hoping that they can move on from this situation.
