News Roundup: MySpace Music Service launching September
Source from CNN.com
MySpace has announced they will be launching a new music service this September enabling users to stream free music and purchase digital music, ringtones, t-shirts and concert tickets. With Apple and Zune, they aren’t the only companies trying to make money from digital music industry. MySpace will now be competing with Apple, Zune, and Ticketmaster as they are offering many services on their website. This will be a one stop website to purchase merchandise, concert tickets and music.
“MySpace is more about self expression and individuality,” DeWolfe said when asked for his thoughts on Palo Alto-based Facebook. “One of the reasons why we’re investing so heavily in music is that self-expression and music go together so well.”
I feel that MySpace has definitely done their research in moving forward with the Digital Music Industry. This will set them apart from Facebook and other community websites.
Do you think this is a wise move for MySpace? Do you think that MySpace will help the Digital Music Industry as they made it easier to help new artists? Vote below.
