Movie Trailers: The Soloist
The Soloist is an American drama based on a true story about Nathanial Ayers, who is an African-American musician who becomes schizophrenic during his second year at Julliard which led him to homelessness. While being homeless, Nathanial played half-broken instruments such as the violin and cello as a way to earn money on the streets of Los Angeles. Played by Jamie Foxx, Nathanial was discovered by Los Angeles Times columnist Steve Lopez played by Robert Downey Jr. who writes and befriends Nathanial. Steve learns about Nathanial’s past and helps him to reconnect with his dream of playing at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
This film is directed by Joe Wright – who directed Pride and Prejudice and Atonment and was shot earlier in January 2008. It looks very inspiring which shows that you can have any kind of medical condition and still can go after your dreams. You just have to find a way. I think I smell another award for Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr. but then again what do I know. Check out the trailer and the movie will be in theatres on November 21st.
