Melanie just released her debut album The Bridge in Canada just last week entering the Soundscan charts at #25  selling 1771 copies. She recently reported that The Bridge will be released in the U.K. on July 27th and in the U.S. on September 22nd. Melanie will be joining Questlove to release a mixtape called Melanie Fiona meets The Illadelphonics (A Live Remix Jam Session of the Bridge) later today. “Ay Yo” is one of the tracks will be featured on the mixtape. Since it’s a live and remixed version, it definitely give you a 70′s soulful feel. Melanie is even rapping on the track too. Who knew that she could spit.  Peep the track and enjoy!

Belly is back with a brand new album and of course, a brand new single “Hot Girl” produced by Da Heala. Within the last two years, Belly has accomplished a lot. His first album The Revolution earned the # 1 rap album in Canada in 2007 and 2 MMVA (MuchMusic Video Award) for Best Rap Video of the year for his single “Pressure” featuring Ginuwine and “Ridin” ft. Mario Winans. In 2008, Belly won a Juno Award for Best Rap Recording of the Year. Belly, also known as ReBELLYus, is preparing to release his follow up album 7 Days & 7 Nights set for release October ’09.

Tona has released his second single “Fast Pace” featuring Saukrates & T.R.A.C.K.S. off his latest EP – Direct Deposit. Tona always knows how to keep me musically satisfied and “Fast Pace” is THAT summer joint. Great track and an excellent listen!

Jive Records presents Livvi Franc, a 21 year old singer/songwriter who possess distinctive vocal and amazing songwriting abilities. “Now I’m That Bitch” is her debut single featuring Pitbull, a track described best as a woman being in full control on herself.  I personally, feel that every woman should be in control in all aspects.  This Bajan beauty will be releasing her debut album later this year featuring productions from RedOne (Lady GaGa), JR Rotem (Rihanna, Leona Lewis), Greg Kurstin (Lily Allen, Kylie Minogue), and many others. We have been waiting patiently for his new single to drop and here it is. Today is a HOT day for HOT 97. First, DJ ENUFF dropped the Mary J. Blige track and now Funk Flex released Jay-z track called “DOA” (aka Death of Autotune) – produced by Kanye West and No ID. A few days ago, it was confirmed that Jay-z will be releasing BluePrint 3 on a FRIDAY- September 9th, 2009 with Warner Music Group.

I am not going to say anything about this track because it is HEAVYYYY.  Goodbye Autotune – I hope you are gone for GOOOOD! Now where can I get a ribbon? So who will respond to the Death Of Autotune? I wonder if Jay-z will do a remix with Death Cab For Cutie? Peep the track!!!

Here is a leak from Mary J. Blige called “I’m The One” featuring Toronto’s own  Drake. DJ Enuff premiered the track on Hot 97 earlier today. It’s a dope song minus the auto-tune. I don’t think auto-tune is going to ever die. Mary J. Blige who clearly doesn’t need it, is using auto-tune. (blah) Drizzy sounds dope as well. Also there’s a track floating around without Drake on it. Not sure which one is official.  Peep the track.
