I am so tired of seeing Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon together. They recently hosted a Hallowe’en party in New York City where Nick Cannon was the DJ for the event. Is it me or is there is something suspcious about these two. Maybe they are a bunch of fakes and trying to pull a publicty stunt. Sorry those things only work for Britney Spears. (She got the BEST PR firm ever!). Could they really be in love and just so happy to share with everyone around the world?  I wonder if Mariah will have Nick Cannon’s babies? Maybe next year? She will most likely compete with Beyonce. Hmmm, we will have to wait and see. Just some random thoughts for your ass!

Some things are just meant to be in this game and Rainah is a perfect example of that. A song that was wrote by the talented duo Big Drawz & being referenced by Rainah for a multi-platinum artist, ended up being leaked to a DJ in Germany and became #1in a matter of weeks.

Just last weekend I was able to be catch one of the illest bands in the world and they go by the name of Steed Lord. As soon as that beat drops… you can’t help but to start dancing and nodding your head to their infectious sound. Hailing all the way from Iceland aka New Crack City (I love that name), Steed Lord brings all the elements needed and wanted for a dope show. Great music, lots of energy, & most of all you could tell they want to be there. They put on one of the greatest performances I’ve ever seen in my life, on the last date of their FEEL THE HEAT USA TOUR in Chicago (my hometown). So you know I had to get an interview…

How did you guys come up with the name “Steed Lord”?

The name comes from Mega´s and Kali´s Persian cat Elvis. His nickname used to be The Mighty Steed Lord cause he poses like a royal steed. Then when it came to naming our band Steed Lord just came up and it fit perfectly.

What separates the kind of sound your music has compared to other artist’s & bands that’s out now?

It’s a 100% homemade Icelandic electro music. We make music that is honest and up front. Sorta take it or leave it kind of thing. Its heavy metal crunk dance music.

Has the Internet played a major role getting your name out in the states?

Yes it has. The Internet is a great platform for unknown bands to get their music and name out there. Our Myspace page is our homebase.

How much does music influence on your fashion?

Fashion and music have always been connected in a strange way. But when we make music it has nothing to do with fashion or how we dress. Music is number one and the most important thing to us. Fashion is something we have fun with and we have always had a lot of interest in it and designing. We like to express ourselves through fashion and music. The only time fashion and music holds hands for us, is on stage. Otherwise it is a separate thing.

I read that Steed Lord is doing designs with H&M. How did that collab come about?

We did a clothing line for H&M last year. It was in stores in 52 countries. They contacted us through a mutual friend and asked us to design prints for them and a clothing line. We did and it sold out and it was huge for us! Our name Steed Lord is on every garment!

The first part of your FEEL THE HEAT USA TOUR has ended, so when do you guys plan on coming back to the states and will there be multiple show dates?

We are coming back to the US in October for an eastcoast tour. When the tour has been planned it will be posted on our myspace page. So check it out BOOM!

Trish is one of the freshest and hottest R&B sensations to grace the urban music scene in Toronto. The Young, Fresh & New got the first dibs on this new talent as she is ready to take over the world.

Flawless was born July 9th, 1982 in the Roseland area of Chicago’s south side. While growing up he dreamed of one day playing in the NBA, which quickly changed due to his life in the streets. That dream slowly became a distant memory as he found himself coming to something he loved more than playing ball. Music. Wanting to be the best thing in rap, he started developing his skill, which was first noticed when he came out with his first ever beef song where he exploited the phony words and discredited other local rap artists that we’re well known. Flawless finally got his foot in the game. He came into the game in a group, but now heads to the future as a solo artist. He also performed at some shows around the city as well as a major black college event’s half time show down in Alabama. Shortly after that, his rap career was detoured as the consequences of the street life landed him a short stay in prison. Upon his release from prison, he got started on the new and improved raps with a whole new direction as he is taking his game into a new lane with no looking back to the do it your self days. Back on the stage as well many of you can find Flawless at concerts left and right as he continues his journey to be known as FLAWLESS The KING. In his latest show he finished by claiming King of the CHI, which in time may cause some controversy of its own among The King and the others that claim it as well. One thing is for certain, there can only be one King and only time will tell for the crown to drop as Flawless awaits his throne.

For all you Torontonians and Canadians out there who love hip hop, you might be familiar with this dude – Frankie Payne. Formerly known as Jugganot, Frankie Payne is ready to dominate world with his underrated lyrical proficiency. After years of working with Split Decision, Graphidi Logik and Browns Bricks Ent, he has been keeping busy with several upcoming projects including working with some of the industry’s top.

Recently, he has released his first single called “REACH” which is produced by Tone Mason. This song brings me back to how hip hop used to be with ridiculous drums and horns. It is a great attempt to resurrect hip hop in Canada and the U.S. Peep the track!
