Eminem made his first out of three appearances on the Jimmy Kimmel show today (May 15th). Eminem talked about learning producing and mixing tricks from Dr.Dre, losing his Britney Spears notebook filled with lyrics, and conversations with Elton John. (Wooooow) I’m amazed they keep in contact. That’s love right there. I’m glad to see Eminem back on the scene and can’t wait to hear this upcoming album.
The rapper is schedule to appear on the same day The Relapse is in stores on Tuesday May 19th and on Friday May 22nd where he will showcase a live performance in his hometown in Detroit.
Check out performance of his first single “We Made You” off his album The Relapse, out in stores on May 19th. Go Get It!!

A few weeks ago, I received an invitation from Twones.com via Twitter to check out their website. Twones is a music service that is providing a new way to store, organize, find and share music played over the web (i.e. YouTube, Myspace, Last.fm, Hypemachine, Favtape, Blogs and many more) or on your computer (i.e. iTunes) to one single point of access. Twones.com works similar to Twitter showing all your followers what you have listened to or watched. Th e way for Twones to track what you are listening to, a plugin for Internet Browser called Twones Tracker has to be installed.
I have been using the website for a few weeks now and it is a great way to track what you have been listening to. I would love to see Twones create a widget that I can put on the blog to show you guys what music I have been bumping and videos I have been watching.
One of the reps over at Twones.com created an exclusive invitation code for the Young, Fresh & New readers to preview the private beta website. The invitation code is theYFN and is only valid for the first 50 users who sign up. Currently they are still testing the website but shall be launching by the end of Jun or early July.
Become a toner today and sign up for www.twones.com. To learn more about how the website works, check out the video below.
Twones.com is popping on What’s Young, Fresh & New.
Today, I was part of history in the making. Today, Toronto stood up and supported an artist who we truly believe and that artist name is DRAKE.
Drake performed at Sound Academy on May 13th which was the first show after the release of his mixtape So Far Gone. Word was that around 8 P.M., the line up to get inside the venue was long. By the time the Real Mark Global Group & Young, Fresh & New team got there, it was an easy process. The venue was jam packed and I couldn’t believe how many people were there to see Drake! It was absolutely amazing. Everyone race and culture came out to support T.O own – Drake.
Special shout outs to Brown of Legacy Sound and P-Reign for holding down the crowd until Drake came on stage. Around 10:15pm Drake opened the show with “Congratulations”. I felt like I was living a Kanye West moment. Everyone was singing word to word and was showing love. I couldn’t enjoy the track because two guys wanted to wreck everyone’s fun and almost fought. (Smh) When we will ever learn? After they got removed from the scene, Drizzy got the crowd hyped with the “Unstoppable” Remix. When he started to rap the words “My name is Drizzy….” the whole crowd went bananas and started to sing along. If you thought that sounded exciting, Drake began to perform that Houston shit “Uptown” and guess who came out…. Bun B. What?!?!?! Bun B of U.G.K. came to support a Toronto artist. Again, absolutely amazing! The New Fresh Prince spent 40 minutes performing various tracks including “Successful,” “Closer,” “Still Fly” with Page, “Best I Ever Had,” “Say You Will,” “City Is Mine” “Ignant Shit,” “November 18th,” “A Little Bit,” “Every Girl” and some others. How many rappers can you name that can sing? Drake serenaded the ladies with “Brand New.” I was a little mad he did not sing “A Night Off” but he can save that for the next concert with Lloyd.
I LOVED every minute of the concert, but I did find that the song sequence was a little off. I felt the song line up was more for the College/University crowd. It’s his first show and I will not knock Drake down for it. He’s a humble artist and is always learning and open to suggestions. I want to reflect on this moment a year from now and see how his performances will be like then.
If you were not there to witness this show, this is something you will regret. I REPEAT – YOU WILL REGRET THIS!
One note: TORONTO is no longer the Screwface Captial of the world because we are capable of singing along and supporting our own.
Normally I have my camera therefore I didn’t get any videos. Check out the videos I got off of YouTube. I will be posting more. If you were at the concert – what are your thoughts??
Here is a little clip of the pre show soundcheck with Drake & the crew ( Future The Prince (DJ), D10 (Keys), and 40 (Engineer)) at Sound Academy – courtesy of 1 LOVE T.O.com
I will be writing a follow up post about the Concert.. It was so AMAZING!!! Peep the clip!!! TORONTO STAND UP!

One artist that everyone should keep their EYE on is Trish. Last year, I wrote a post about her on her performance at the Honey Jam here in Toronto. I’ve been impressed with her ever since Joanne of Real Mark Global Group put me on to her. What makes Trish so special is that she utilizes her creative dancing technique and unique style.
Recently, Trish was out in Montreal where she performed “Bump” and “Get On The Floor” the BAM showcase at Club Soda in Montreal. I am anxiously waiting for her new material and will be posting the content as soon as it comes available. Peep the video and the track!

K’naan dropped his new music video “T.I.A” yesterday. The latest single is directed by Nabil who also directed Kanye West “Welcome To Heartbreak” and Mr. Hudson “There Will Be Tears”.
“T.I.A.” is a DOPE track and the video is crazier. The video gives you are creative and colorful vibe. More artists need to step out of the half naked women, popping champagne, throwing money and bling blinging videos! Come on people – lets step it!!! Get your creativity on!
Yesterday, Jadakiss shot his upcoming video “Who’s Real” featuring Swizz Beatz. Swizz Beatz laced everyone with some exclusive footage of the video shoot via Twitter. You gotta LOVE Twitter for exclusive content! “Who’s Real” is a HOT joint and I think there’s a remix in the works. Who who you want to hear on the Remix? I’d like to hear The Lox, Drake or Fabolous on this track. We will see. I can’t wait to see the final version of the video.
NOTE: I really tried to grab the embed code to post onto my page but for some reason the object is large. If you know how to properly tweak Kyte.tv codes, please hit me on twitter.

As more and more people are bumping Drake’s “Best I Ever Had”, a lot of artists are jumping on the track creating their own remix. Rock City, two brothers from St. Thomas, Virgin Island created their own version of “Best I Ever Had” featuring India.
After doing a bit of research, these brothers are no joke and have been in the industry for a minute. They have written songs for various artists including Sean Kingston, Ciara and Kardinal Offishall. Currently, they are associated with Konvict Musik and is waiting for the release of their debut album Wake The Neighbours which will be release under Interscope Record later this year.
Check out their version and let know what you think.

Today, Terrence J & Rosci announced the nominees for the 2009 BET Awards on 106 & Park. The 2009 BET Awards will be live at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday June 28th 8 EST/7 Central and will be hosted by comedian/actor/singer-songwriter Jamie Foxx. Confirmed performances by Jamie Foxx, Beyonce, Maxwell, Ne-Yo and more to follow.
Lil Wayne, Beyonce and T.I. lead with five nominations each followed by Kanye West, Rihanna, Jamie Foxx and Jazmine Sullivan who each got four nominations.
One thing I did notice that Chris Brown did not receive any nomination. I guess BET doesn’t support or associate themselves with him or maybe his songs are not good enough to be nominated.

While everyone is still talking about Cassie’s nude photos that leaked on the Internet last week, I thought I’d take the opportunity to shed some good light in her direction. Cassie recently shot the video for her upcoming single “Must Be Love” which also features the Boss man Diddy. He has been stamping his name on all the Bad Boys Records project recently. I bet you Dawn Richards’ first single will feature Diddy. Cassie is currently working on her sophomore album Electro Love which should be release later this year. It seems that Cassie is sill trying to make her mark in the industry. Although “Must Be Love” doesn’t display major improvement in her vocals, but I do hope that she will provide stronger vocals on this album. Peep the video clip and enjoy!
By the way – I am still not feeling Cassie’s hairstyle but hopefully it will grow on me.

Bawse Man Rick Ross is featured on the latest cover of XXL magazine for the month of May. As you may notice Rick Ross is wearing a pair of Louis Vuitton sunglasses. A representative of Louis Vuitton sent a letter to the editor of the magazine stating that Rick Ross is wearing a counterfeit and was not granted permission to use the trademarks.
We were dismayed to see the cover of the May 2009 issue of XXL Magazine, which features a photo of Rick Ross wearing a pair of sunglasses prominently featuring counterfeit Louis Vuitton trademarks. Because the photo has generated considerable confusion among your readers and Louis Vuitton customers among others, we feel it is important to clarify several points.
The first is that the sunglasses Mr. Ross is wearing were not made by Louis Vuitton, and in fact, are counterfeit. Louis Vuitton did not grant permission to Mr. Ross or to whoever did make the sunglasses to use our trademarks. The second is that no affiliation, sponsorship or association exists between Rick Ross or XXL and Louis Vuitton. The third is that counterfeiting is illegal.
What are your thoughts? Who do you blame? The Stylist? Rick Ross? XXL Mag? Why is that everything Rick Ross does being questioned? I guess it’s just another day in the life of a gotdamn bawse!
