  • Say What Now: Kanye’s Response to Bonnaroo Festival

    June 26.08 @ 2:01 am
    Posted By: admin

Kanye responded to the Bonnaroo Music Festival late Tuesday Afternoon on his blog. See excerpt below.

“Bonnaroo should have released a statement in my defense but since they haven’t let’s break down the walls on this Truman show and let you know what really occurred!!!…

…My production manager tried to load in for 24 hours before I went on stage but the festival wouldn’t allow us to do anything until pearl jam left the stage. Pearl Jam ended one hour late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..

…I’m sorry to everyone that i didn’t have the ability 2 give the performance I wanted to. I’m sorry… sometimes i go 2, 3 days w/o sleep working on my performance… I have to ice my knees after every show and they hurt when I walk through the airport… having an expensive stage cuts my payday in half… call me what you want but never say I didn’t give my all!!!”

After reading Kanye’s statement, it is clear that he is not responsible for what happened at the Festival. I understand the position from where Kanye is coming from. He has proven time and time again that he can give 110 percent in delivering a great performance. After attending the Glow In The Dark Tour in Toronto, he amazed me with his passion and energy.

In many cases, music festivals may not be on schedule, but If an artist goes on stage and finished his/her set late, what can you do? In this case, a statement should have been made to the fans by the Bonnaroo Music Festival regarding the whole incident with Kanye. Now it seems like Kanye is the bad guy when he it wasn’t his fault. He made a great attempt to apologize to his fans in hoping that they can move on from this situation.

New Music: G-Unit “You So Tough” – (T.I. Diss)

    June 24.08 @ 8:45 pm
    Posted By: admin

With 6 days and counting until the sophomore release of G-Unit’s album “Terminate On Sight”, there are a bunch of tracks floating around over the internet. Thanks to my boy RC – I got my hands on “You So Tough” dissing T.I. (Paricularly 50 Cent’s verse).

This track is absolutely ridiculous and it’s a very good listen beside the whole T.I. diss. Listen to G-Unit – “You So Tough” (T.I. Diss) here

Let me know what your thought are.

New Music – Musiq Soulchild “Radio”

Musiq Soulchild is back with his new single “Radio” from his upcoming fifth album “On My Radio” which is scheduled to be in stores on September 16, 2008.

This track is bananas and I can already hear this being one of the summer jams the year. It is describe to have a Dirty South/ATL feel to it which is a different route for Musiq Soulchild.

What you think? HOT or NOT?

Behind The Scenes – Plies “Please Excuse My Hands”

Plies filmed his second single “Please Excuse My Hand” featuring Jamie Foxx & The Dream. Peep the photos below.

For those who haven’t heard the single yet, Listen to – Plies “Please Excuse My Hands” feat. Jamie Foxx and The Dream. The song has a rather interesting concept “Please excuse my hands” but it’s definitely one to lure the ladies in. Plies is started to grow on me a bit because he can do a range of rap and r&b. There are not a lot of rappers that can balance both. His latest release “Definition of Real” is in stores now.

Note: Jamie Foxx is working on a sophomore project “Man’s Intuition” due at the end of the year.

New Music: G-Unit feat. Mavado “Let It Go”

    G-Unit+Mavado = Pure FIRE!!

It really amazes me how quick a lot of the rappers are catching on with Dancehall Sensation Mavado. Produced by Don Cannon (Cassidy, Busta Rhymes), Yayo and Banks are the only two that appears on the track both delivering a great track without Fifty.

Let It Go appears on G-Unit’s album Terminate On Sight is in stores on July 1, 2008. I am hearing really great raves about this album and can’t wait to get a my hands on a copy to review myself.

Concert: Lil Wayne is Coming To Toronto

In the words of Billy Paul’s War of the God “The Time has come…….”. One of the greatest rappers of all time, Lil Wayne is finally going to make his entrance to the north of the border and my hometown – Toronto. Lil Wayne will be at Circa on Canada’s Birthday – July 1, 2008. The Young, Fresh & New team will definitely be there in effect to capture photos and review the event.

My only question is – How is Weezy gonna make it across the border?

Peep the video below of The Game and Lil Wayne performing their track off The Game’s upcoming album L.A.X.
