  • Music Videos: Jadakiss “Who’s Real” featuring Swizz Beatz & OJ Da Juiceman

    Posted By: admin

The official video for Jadakiss is finally here!!!! The pre summer anthem “Who’s Real” featuring Swizz Beatz & OJ Da Juiceman premiered on BET’s 106 & Park today. We all know that Swizz Beatz is one of the KINGS of recycled rhymes but this track is super catchy. You know you can’t help yourself but to sing along.

“He’s Phony, She’s Fake / That’s the type of people I hate / If you’re real and know it, clap your hands”…

I know many of you can relate to the chorus as we have all dealt with the FAKERS in our lives. There’s a bunch of them out them. As Jada said – “Real Recognize Real”

As a bonus, Swizz Beatz has been amping up his followers on Twitter (@THEREALSWIZZZ) about getting the Ruff Ryder Gang (including DMX, Drag On, Eve, Sheek Louch and Styles P) together for the “Who’s Real – Ruff Ryder Remix.” It’s been a HOT minute since we heard all these artists together on one track.  I think I smell the CLASSIC black & white music video coming along? What you think? Peep below.

Freestyle Central: Trey Songz “Death Of Autotune” (R. Kelly Diss)

    June 9.09 @ 3:54 pm
    Posted By: admin

It’s that season again, when people will start taking the best beats and start attacking one another. Jay-z recently released his first single “D.O.A.” aka Death Of Auto Tune where he is “supposedly” taking shots at artists who use autotune,  men who wear tight pants and colorful clothing. The same person (Kanye West) who produced the track, wears colorful clothing and used autotune.  That’s another topic at hand. Today, Trey Songz leaked his version of “Death of Auto Tune” dissing old man R. Kelly. Mr. Yuuup went innnnnnnnn. He started off by saying “ Like For Real, who wants to hear Kellz with autotune?”. I’ll be the first to cosign that statement.
    R.I.P. Autotune & R. Kelly’s Career – 2009!

Trey Songz coming, Where Kelly at? / Why be indirect /
I think he feelin that, he got the game sold so he layin’ back / Chillin, that’s not a fact, T-pain copycat”/

On a brighter note: Trey Songz has been improving his online presense with the help of Twitter and UStream.tv. If you are not following him on Twitter – do so now. I promise, he is not as annoying as @iamdiddy –  twitter.com/Songzyuuup

New Music: Livvi Franc – “Now I’m That Bitch” feat. Pitbull (Produced by Salaam Remi)

Rihanna and Shontelle are not the only Bajans trying to make it in the music business. Jive Records presents Livvi Franc, a 21 year old singer/songwriter who possess distinctive vocal and amazing songwriting abilities. “Now I’m That Bitch” is her debut single featuring Pitbull, a track described best as a woman being in full control on herself.  I personally, feel that every woman should be in control in all aspects.  This Bajan beauty will be releasing her debut album later this year featuring productions from RedOne (Lady GaGa), JR Rotem (Rihanna, Leona Lewis), Greg Kurstin (Lily Allen, Kylie Minogue), and many others. Livvi looks like she has what it take to do some damage in this industry.  Peep the track & vote. Also, check out the behind the scene clip from a recent photoshoot below. Enjoy!

What do you think about Livvi Franc's single "Now I'm That Bitch"?

Behind The Scenes: Justin Bieber “One Time”

Last week, I wrote about Usher’s 15 year old protege Justin Bieber who’s gaining a tremendous amount of attenion on YouTube. Justin recently shot his first music video for “One Time” in Los Angeles. In the video clip below, he talks about how he got started with the YouTube channel and how he met Usher.

I honestly believe that this kid has the ability to do big in this industry. Now I just have to see if his dance moves are up to par. The clip doesn’t give too much away about the music video but you can get a general idea of where the video is going. PUPPY LOVE (Awwwww) Peep below.

Music Videos: Amerie “Why R U?”

Amerie just premiered her new music video “Why R U?” on BET’s 106 & Park yesterday. This is the first single  off her upcoming album In Love & War. The video was shot in Los Angeles a little over a month ago, by film director and photographer Ray Kay. Overall, the video looks good but reminds me of an extended or lost version of “1 Thing”.

Quick Note: While she was on 106 & Park, Terrence J asked “What is your Twitter name?”. She stumbled, paused and then said “ItsmeAmerie” (smh) — Stop fronting, you got a ghost-tweeter. It’s all good.  Peep the video.

Amerie will be releasing In Love & War on August 11th, is her first album under Island Def Jam Group.

    What’s Young, Fresh & New: A-Game

Last week, at Stylus DJ Awards I got a chance to meet Chase & Nova twins who make up A-Game. They released their first music video “Go Head Shawty” a few months ago which is recently gaining a lot of attention. I first heard this track awhile when hustleGRL.com & Cashmerethinker.com both mentioned it on their blogs. I must say I wasn’t a huge fan of the track at first but just like many songs it grew on me. “Go Head Shawty” is already earning one of Toronto’s summer bangers and have been cosigned by many bloggers and DJs.

At the Stylus DJ Awards  After Party, one of the twins ( Sorry I can’t tell who is who) kicked a dope freestyle over Page’s “Still Fly”. Keep your eyes and ears in tuned for A-Game. Peep the freestyle & their debut video!

News Roundup: Whitney Houston’s New Album For Release – Sept 1st

Within the past year, there had been rumors that Whitney Houston is in the studio working on her new album. Well those rumors are now news. Whitney Houston’s new album will be released worldwide  September 1, 2009 on Arista Records. According to Wikipedia – Whitney Houston is one of pop music’s biggest-selling artists of all time, selling over 140 million albums and 50 million singles, worldwide.  This is Whitney’s 7th studio album. Since her 1985 self-titled debut, she has built an illustrious career that has generated over 170 million combined worldwide sales of albums, singles and videos.  Cited by the Guinness Book of World Records as music’s “most awarded female artist of all time,” with an unsurpassed tally of 411 awards, inclusive of 6 Grammy Awards, 2 Emmy Awards, 23 American Music Awards and 16 Billboard Music Awards… Whitney remains a singular force in music today.

I am very anxious to hear Whitney’s post marriage to Bobby Brown music. 2009 feels like the year of comeback (Eminem, Amerie, Method Man & Redman and now Whitney Houston) I hope she will continue to create those feel good love songs. Stay tuned people as this should be an interesting journey.

Live Performances: HOT 97 Summer Jam 2009

Yesterday  (Sun June 7th, 2009) HOT 97 held their annual HOT 97 Summer Jam at The Giants Stadium in New York. Each year, the line up gets crazier and crazier and with this year, it was no different. The event was hosted by funny man, Tracy Morgan which was followed by live performances by Mary J. Blige, T-Pain, The Dream, Young Jeezy, Jadakiss, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, Elephant Man, Mavado, Serani and Pleasure P. I’m not from New York and i didn’t attend the concerts but I did some scoops from Miss Info’s blog – and more artists did come out. Can you guess who? One is the HOTTEST unsigned artist of 2009 and the other just released his first single off his upcoming album? That’s right Drake & Jay-z both came out on stage (not together) to move the sold out arena. Unfortunately since I didn’t attend the show, I can’t give you feedback but I can provide you with various performances that went down. Peep below.
